FAQ - Permits

  1. Yes if you have an A number and have previouslypurchased a permit from the parking office, or if you are living in an on campus resident. Otherwise you do not yet have an account set up and you’ll need to go to the Parking and Transportation office to fill out a SHORT application. You will need the license plate number of the vehicle you will be driving and parking on campus.

  1. Permits purchased online will be mailed out the next business day. Please allow 5-7 business days to receive your permit. If you will need the permit before then please come to the Parking Office to purchase your permit.

  1. You may return your parking permit to the parking office at any time. Refund amounts vary due to permit type and date returned. You may also bring your permit in to exchange or upgrade to a different permit. The refund amount will be put towards the new permit or put back on a debit or credit card.

Yes. Permits are linked to people not vehicles. As long as the person who purchased the permit is in the vehicle being driven the permit is still valid. If the permit holder is not in the car it is not a valid permit.

  1. If you ordered your permit on line and it has been over 14 working days, but you have still not received it first check the address listed on your online account. That is where it would have been mailed. Second come into theParking and Transportation office to fill out a lost/stolen form and pick up a new permit.
  2. If you had a permit and it is no longer in your possession, come to the Parking and Transportation office as soon as it is noticed to be missing to fill out a lost/stolen form and pick up a new permit. A $5.00 charge to replace the permit may be given.

Printed on the back for the permit is your “overflow” area where you can park if you preferred area is full. All permits have an overflow of Yellow; some permits have more than one. Please refer to the back of your permit.

  4. Faculty/Staff: Yellow, Green, Private Vehicle- all other F/S permits require a waitlist submission

  1. Yearly Blue, Yellow, and Aggie Terrace Commuter student permits, as well as Gray 6 and 7 expire August 15.
  2. Gray 1-5 Aggie Terrace Resident, and Blue Spring only, expire the last day of finals spring semester May 6th.
  3. Faculty/Staff permits expire March 15.

  3. Gray: Student Residents, Student Resident Spouses (Aggie Village, Town Houses and West Stadium Villa)
  4. Yellow, Green: Any USU Faculty/Staff. Student employees do not count.

  6. Brown, Purple, Red, Orange, Teal and Black: These areas are available by waitlist for fulltime benefited faculty/staff.
  7. Private Vehicle: Faculty/Staff- must have a valid F/S permit with the Private Vehicle permit. Requests for PV’s must go through the Director of Parking.
  8. Motorcycle Permit- Any Student, Faculty or Staff
  9. Commercial Permit- Vendors doing frequent on campus business, ie; delivery, construction, etc
